Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.
— B.K.S. Iyengar

What is Yoga?

Yoga is the physical, mental, and spiritual practice that aims to transform your body and mind. Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, this unique practice still enjoys widespread use today by people of every age, background, fitness level, and belief system in order to cultivate overall health and well-being. The word "yoga", from the Sanskrit word interpreted as "union", signifies bringing together the body and mind in one harmonious experience - the union between yourself and the rest of the Universe. Yoga is the art and science of self-care, self-transformation, and self-realization.  It is the ultimate way of quieting the mind's chatter which allows us to see the world with new, unfiltered eyes.

Yoga - Anywhere and Everywhere!

Unsure of where to practice yoga?  Yoga can be done anywhere!  Indoor studios, outdoors at a park, on a beach, at home, and even at work.  Whether you are buried in paperwork at the office or find yourself on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, all you need to begin is an open mind and one breath at a time...

By doing yoga outdoors you deepen your connection with the Earth.  It is so calming to  see the sun and hear the music of the waves while practicing your sun salutations under the blue sky.

Yoga can be practiced without even leaving your desk, right on your work chair!

 "Seeing clear blue sky,

Feeling grass with my feet...

Surrounded by trees,

Sun gently touches my skin...

For what else could you wish?

      I am grateful,

            Today is bliss..."

I encourage my students to open their hearts and surrender in order to move towards a feeling of oneness.
