Ellina Abkin is the founder of Yoga out of Doors. She is a certified yoga teacher, whose training was completed with esteemed Yoga Master - Dharma Mittra in NYC.
The teachings she shares are rooted in the classical Hatha-Raja tradition. Yoga is her personal compass which gives her the right direction in how to live and embrace each new day with strength, love, hope, and compassion.
Her classes are fun, vigorous, and inviting, which will leave you with a sense of inner peace and an open heart. She wants to help her students to achieve a more integrated and balanced lifestyle. Yoga allows you to stay present, look deep within, and be grateful for every day.
Originally an exercise physiologist, she currently works as a Physician Assistant specializing in Sport Medicine at The Hospital for Special Surgery. A strong knowledge of anatomy, as well as a background in medicine, permits her to teach classes concentrating on proper alignment, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation with meditation at the end.
She would like to thank her parents and beloved family, her friends, her yoga teachers, and all the teachers she meets on her path.
"Having lost several family members to cancer, I am proud to combine my passion for yoga with an important goal - raising money for lifesaving cancer research. I believe that yoga can make a powerful impact in this world and I invite you to unite together to make a difference!"
