About me…
My name is Ellina Abkin , but my friends call me Ella. I was born and raised in Lithuania and I speak fluent Russian. I am a certified yoga teacher, whose training was completed with esteemed Yoga Master - Dharma Mittra in NYC.
The teachings I share are rooted in the classical Hatha-Raja tradition. Yoga is my personal compass which gives me the right direction in how to live and embrace each new day with strength, love, hope, and compassion.
My classes are fun, vigorous, and inviting, which will leave you with a sense of inner peace and an open heart. I want to help my students to achieve a more integrated and balanced lifestyle. Yoga allows you to stay present, look deep within, and be grateful for every day.
Originally an exercise physiologist, I currently work as a Physician Assistant specializing in Sport Medicine . A strong knowledge of anatomy, as well as a background in medicine, permits me to teach classes concentrating on proper alignment, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation with meditation at the end.
I would like to thank my parents and beloved family, my friends, yoga teachers, and all the students, who are my teachers I meet on my path.
"Having lost several family members to cancer, I am proud to combine my passion for yoga with an important goal - raising money for lifesaving cancer research. I believe that yoga can make a powerful impact in this world and I invite you to unite together to make a difference!"
Om shanti,
Ellina.
